I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Maksim A. Shlykov. From my very first office visit through the day of surgery and all the way into my recovery, he has been nothing short of exceptional.

At every appointment, Dr. Shlykov took the time to truly listen to me, answer my questions, and thoughtfully explain my options. I never once felt rushed or dismissed. He is incredibly attentive, caring, and compassionate, and always made me feel like I genuinely mattered—not just another patient being checked off a list.

What truly set him apart was his availability and personal care after surgery. When I had concerns at home, Dr. Shlykov made himself available to speak with me directly, which brought me so much reassurance. He even sent me a personal letter checking on my recovery, offering encouragement, wishing me the best, and reminding me to reach out if anything came to mind. That level of care is rare and deeply meaningful.

His kindness and attentiveness helped give me the strength and confidence to move forward with this important decision for my health. I am now doing great, with no issues, and I am incredibly grateful.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Shlykov. I was able to be seen fairly quickly, my concerns were taken seriously, and Dr. Shlykov was able to completely resolve the issues that brought me into his office. This was my first major surgery, but the Maryland Spine Center made it as positive an experience as possible under the circumstances. Highly recommend.

Dr. Shlykov is an amazing spine surgeon. I am just starting my eighth month of recovering from fusion on my L3, L4, and L5. He has done a super job on my back and I am feeling better and better each day. Many of my friends can't believe how great I am doing. Dr. Shlykov is a wonderful, kind, compassionate Doctor.He listens to you and spends time with you instead of rushing in and out. When you leave his office you know exactly what needs to be done. He did neck surgery on me a year ago, I have had no problems since my surgery. I’m so very blessed and thankful to have him as my Dr.

I can’t say enough positive things about Dr, Maksim Shlykov. My husband went to see him in regard to his back just over a year ago. Dr,Shlykov took the time with my husband during his initial visit to listen and gave my husband hope from the beginning. He performed surgery on my husband’s back to fix a disc in his back and the care that my husband received was top notch. My husband is 60 years old and has recovered well. He has been able to return to all his prior activities prior to his injury. We traveled over 2 hours to receive care from this doctor and would have traveled 24 hours if needed. My previous doctor Dr Adam moved to Nebraska after performing spine surgery on me on March 1st this year so I was a little concerned about seeing someone brand new.
I need not have been concerned because Dr Shlykov took over my care and I liked him very much. His follow up after my surgery put me at ease and I am glad I trusted the physicians at Mercy Personal physicians!
